Rudolf also clarified the difference between data platforms and the 3 steps towards an autonomous greenhouse, with each step adding even more value.

Algorithms in the greenhouse, a black box for growers?

What does it mean to trust algorithms as a grower? Are you surrendering to a black box? You don’t want to trust something that you don’t understand. The question is: does it work that way? Do you not trust technology until you fully understand how it works? Read more in the blog written by Rudolf de Vetten, Chief Product Officer at Blue Radix.

Plant feedback from sensors a big step forward in autonomous control

Blue Radix and 2Grow are working together in the TKI ‘Digital Green Fingers’ project. Alongside other renowned companies, they are evaluating a wide range of sensors for added value in optimizing the greenhouse climate with algorithms. In this interview Maxime Dedecker, International Service Manager at 2Grow, discusses how he views autonomous growing. He also elaborates on the role of sensors in the greenhouse, and offers his vision for the coming years.

Women in AI: What does the future of horticulture look like?

Getting the best from your crop and greenhouse will increasingly become a computer responsibility. We need to make better decisions. Artificial Intelligence can help us with this. But what skills are needed to work in AI tech? And what does the future of working with AI look like? Britta Meixner, Saheli De and Gosia Piekarska of Blue Radix answer these questions, and suggest how we can encourage more women to aim for tech jobs in AI or IT.
