Plant feedback from sensors a big step forward in autonomous control
Blue Radix and 2Grow are working together in the TKI ‘Digital Green Fingers’ project. Alongside other renowned companies, they are evaluating a wide range of sensors for added value in optimizing the greenhouse climate with algorithms. In this interview Maxime Dedecker, International Service Manager at 2Grow, discusses how he views autonomous growing. He also elaborates on the role of sensors in the greenhouse, and offers his vision for the coming years.
Blue Radix on judging panel of Pinduoduo Smart Agriculture Competition
Pinduoduo is co-organizing the Smart Agriculture Competition with China Agricultural University and Zhejiang University, with technical guidance from the FAO and Wageningen University and Research. The competition will run from August 2021 to March 2022. Rudolf de Vetten is one of the members of the judging panel and tells what he’s is looking forward to see from the teams.

Rising Farms starts AI-driven growing to become biggest of Mexico
To be able to scale up fast Rising Farms in Mexico will start working with autonomous growing by Blue Radix on their new location ‘Rising Park 1’. That location will house 47 hectares of high-tech greenhouses when all stages are completed.
Blue Radix organizes first Autonomous Grower Days
On July 14 and 15, Blue Radix organized the very first Autonomous Grower Days for Dutch customers. During these virtual meetings growers were informed about the latest developments in autonomous growing. “It gave an interesting ‘look under the hood’ and gives confidence for the future”, according to one of the growers.

Poul Erik Lund is an international Crop Advisor and co-owner of Grotek Consulting, a Danish crop consultancy company for greenhouse vegetable growers in the North of Europe. Poul Erik has known Jan Hanemaaijer, Crop Advisor at Blue Radix, for many years.
